REMEMBERING BRIAN “SHARKY” GILL - 2013
In 2013 the Annual HPCA Ball screened a video documentary about Brian “Sharky” Gill. It was dedicated to the life and death of a man who was both a pillar in his community and a loving father and husband. The purpose was to increase awareness about prostate cancer and show the devastating effect the disease can have on families and the wider community.
ORICA MICK CHAPMAN MEMORIAL CRITERIUM - 2013
The Orica Mick Chapman Memorial Criterium was a race day held in Newcastle’s pristine Honeysuckle area. The event hosted cyclists ranging from local enthusiasts to world-renowned stars such as Orica’s Robbie McEwan. The event promoted awareness of prostate cancer in honour of the late Mick Chapman, a beloved member of the community and avid cyclist.
HPCA LITTLE PRICK CAMPAIGN - 2012
The HPCA has been a strong advocate for the Little Prick test, a PSA test that is often helpful in early detection of prostate cancer. Along with funding from PCFA, This tongue-in-cheek advert was produced with the goal of encouraging women to persuade their partners to have PSA tests.

Following the success of HPCA’s previous Little Prick campaigns, which used humour to encourage men to have their PSA tests, HPCA decided to appeal to men on a more serious, emotional note. This advert was produced to show how a simple test can save lives and prevent the painful loss of a family member.

Why not? Proceeds from this not for profit campaign will go to Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance.
HPCA ANNUAL BALL - 2011
The HPCA Annual Ball was a major event in the Newcastle calendar. Attended by fellow charity organisations, local celebrities, politicians and members of the public. Over the years, hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised at these events to help support prostate cancer awareness, early detection and free counseling sessions for sufferers and their families.
